Techniques Tuesday - Gelli Printing (Part 3)

We are continuing our gelli printing series this week after learning the basics and seeing some different ways to use your basic prints including seeing Marie use her gelli prints to make a zine.

This week we tackle image transfers using our gelli plates. Check out this Reel by Tanyalee demonstrating the technique. And here are some tips to help if you decide to have a go:

1. Choose a glossy magazine image with lots of contrast.

2. Use a thin layer of acrylic paint to get the best print.

3. Let your paint dry well between layers if you are adding colour to your transfer.

4. Have fun!

Some more inspiration comes from Misty who shared on Instagram how she used gelli printed over drawings with some delightful results.

Now it's your turn to start getting creative with your plates and using your gelli prints in your journals.

We would love for you to share your spreads in the Facebook group or on Instagram, but don't forget to tag us as collaborators so your posts appear in our feed as well. You can find some tips on how to do that in our highlights over on Instagram.
